Supervisory Skills

Coaching for Improved Performance

The role of leadership is to guide and assist others in becoming more effective and efficient. One key to leadership is the ability to coach others to successfully perform the duties of the job.

HR 101

Managers and organization leaders will review fundamental employment law concepts including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and other applicable law. Develop an awareness of harassment and discrimination, how to prevent it and managing claims. HR 101 provides tools and techniques to motivate employees as well as manage both performance and conduct through coaching, counseling, and corrective action.

Everything DiSC Workplace

Everything DiSC Workplace® helps individuals build more effective relationships at work. This highly interactive session provides participants with valuable insights that unlock engagement and inspire effective collaboration. Participants will gain actionable strategies to strengthen their interpersonal interactions at all levels in the workplace.

Everything DisC Productive Conflict

Conflict is an inevitable and often destructive part of workplace interactions, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Everything DiSC® Productive Conflict helps participants understand and improve self-awareness around their own conflict behaviors and those of the people they work with to improve workplace relationships and results.

Everything DiSC® Management helps managers develop their styles, improve communication and increase engagement. This highly interactive session helps participants deepen their understanding of themselves, their direct reports and their own manager using the DiSC® model.

Personal Strengths and Leadership Styles

Have you ever wondered why you have difficulty working with a particular individual? Do you chalk it up to personality differences and just try to get along? There is another way. This session uses the Strength Deployment Inventory self-assessment instrument to help you discover and re-confirm the strengths you use when things are going well and to realize how they change under conflict situations.

Technical courses

8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher

This course uses the guidelines listed in the OSHA Final Rule, 29 CFR 1910.120 (appendix E), NFPA 472 and National Skills Standards. This course is recommended for those who have a potential for hazardous substance exposure while performing their normal work duties. It meets off-site training requirements for general site workers under CERCLA and RCRA operations site workers. Those personnel who are required to perform emergency response to hazardous materials will find this course extremely valuable for initial training. 

Topics covered include: properties of hazardous substances, hazard recognition, selection, use and care of personal protective equipment, emergency response planning, spill control and containment, development of site safety and health plans and procedures, use of various monitoring equipment, incident command, and emergency response and decontamination methods and procedures.

Permit-Required Controlled Space Entry

This course covers OSHA's stringent guidelines concerning confined space areas. OSHA Standard 1910.146 requires employers to develop and implement a comprehensive program to minimize risk when working in confined spaces. This course is designed to increase knowledge of hazards associated with confined space entry.

Topics include permit space hazards, entry procedures, ventilation requirements, personal protective equipment, and permit system. Attendees will learn how to properly calibrate and use various testing instruments as well. This course is designed for safety personnel, supervisors and those required to perform entry operations at work.
