Give 5 Volunteer Matching

Give 5 is a feel-good, social engagement program that connects skilled, passionate retired (or otherwise have the time to commit) older adults with meaningful volunteer opportunities at select nonprofit organizations.

Connect with volunteerism through Give 5!

Give 5 meets once a week for five weeks, for a full day of guest presenters and all-access tours of nonprofit organizations looking for volunteers. Classes are held at the Mid-America Regional Council conference center, 600 Broadway Boulevard, in Kansas City, Missouri. The program is free of charge, and MARC provides lunch and transportation from the conference center to the nonprofit tour locations.

Participation is open to residents 60 years or older in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties.

Give 5's goals:

  1. Connect older adults with meaningful volunteer opportunities.
  2. Allow participants to “taste-test” volunteer opportunities before committing.
  3. Create connections between retired adults and community initiatives.
  4. Re-engineer volunteer opportunities to make them more meaningful.
  5. Help participants identify and discover the community legacy they want to leave.
