Local health departments begin back-to-school immunizations.

Kansas City region elected leaders are encouraging residents to continue taking steps proven to slow the spread of COVID-19 to help protect themselves, their families and communities.

The region’s public health directors are asking Kansas City metro residents to help ease the mounting pressure on area hospitals by taking steps to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The region’s public health directors are asking Kansas City metropolitan area residents to continue the fight against COVID-19 by vaccinating eligible children and wearing a mask while in public and in school settings.

Public health directors in the Kansas City region are encouraging eligible Pfizer vaccine recipients to continue protecting themselves and their families by getting the Pfizer COVID-19 booster shot from a primary care provider or local pharmacy. Eligible individuals without a primary care provider are asked to contact their local public health department to learn how to arrange a booster dose.

In consultation with area hospitals’ Chief Medical Officers, the region’s public health departments are issuing a Public Health Advisory in response to rapidly increasing COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations across the Kansas City metro related to the emergence of the delta variant.

The region’s public health officials are recommending school districts continue to require masks in school buildings, in accordance with recent changes in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) masking guidelines.
