MGT 467: Sport and Special Event Public Information and Emergency Notification course brings planners, operators, public information professionals, government, public safety, and marketing professionals together in an effort to prepare and/or enhance venue and event communication programs. The course prescribes best practices to common communication pitfalls and provides flexible and scalable solutions to a wide-range of scenarios. The training leverages a combination of exercises, discussions, and activities to optimize participant experience.

Join us for an interactive virtual tabletop exercise (Operation: Stronghold) focusing on our regional, bi-state community-based organizations and their ability to activate plans, protocols and procedures during an armed violent incident.

There is no cost to participate in this exercise.

The Mid-America Regional Council Emergency Rescue Committee, commonly known as MARCER, promotes regional coordination and cooperation in emergency pre-hospital care for metropolitan Kansas City.

This two-day course is for public safety officials, venue operators, event planners, and other stakeholders responsible for safety and security at sport and special events. The training will provide participants with tools and techniques to assist with conducting crowd management and crowd control operations before, during, and after an event or incident. The course content is scalable and applicable to all sports and special events regardless of venue size, capacity, or type of event. 

Registration is a two step process. 

The Regional Homeland Security Coordinating Committee's Training and Exercise Subcommittee (T&E) is committed to offering training in the Greater Kansas City region on homeland security issues, including deterrence, response and recovery.

This training opportunity is sponsored by Kansas Hazardous Materials Emergency Planning (HMEP) funds. This is a 16-hour course delivered on a shift-friendly schedule over the course of 2 days. 

MGT 310 is a 2-day course that will prepare participants to conduct a community Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment/Stakeholder Preparedness Review (THIRA/SPR). Participants will identify threats and hazards of community concern, give those threats context, establish capability targets and determine how to apply the THIRA/SPR results.
