Communities for All Ages

Communities for All Ages recipients

Communities for All Ages is a regional, age-inclusive city initiative that provides tools to help cities and other local governments recognize their role in supporting older residents. The program provides education, technical assistance and recognition to cities and counties in the region that have taken meaningful steps to become more inclusive of residents of all ages and, in the process, more vibrant, healthy and prosperous.

AGE-INCLUSIVE CITY FRAMEWORK (RECOGNITION PROGRAM)

The Age-Inclusive City Framework is a structured three-level process to guide cities through their age-inclusive work. The framework challenges cities to think through their policies, programs and built environment through the lens of age inclusion. Cities are recognized and awarded for the completion of each level.
Participating communities are encouraged to work through all three levels of recognition:

  • Bronze = Awareness
  • Silver = Assessment
  • Gold = Action

WORKSHOPS

MARC provides workshops and peer-to-peer sharing opportunities on strategies that cities can employ to help their older residents live healthier, happier lives using evidence-based tools and techniques.
