This Roundtable will be held at the City of Lenexa’s new Justice Center (17371 Prairie Star Pkwy) which opened August 24, 2024. The building serves as the headquarters for the Police Department and Municipal Court, and a new police training facility sits nearby. Lenexa staff will give us a brief overview of the project, as well as a tour of the facility. After the tour, plan to join us at Brewbakers (9482 Renner Blvd) for an additional networking opportunity.

The ride starts at I-Lan Park and ends at the new Parks & Recreation Maintenance building (4.5 miles) for breakfast. It will have escorts from Leawood Police Department on the route to P&R Maintenance. Those who are willing and able can return to I-Lan Park and then continue to the Justice Center. Deadline for sign up is May 9, 2025.

The All-Hazards Communications Unit Leader (COML) course trains emergency responders to serve as radio communications unit leaders during all-hazards emergency operations. COML responsibilities include developing plans to effectively use incident communications equipment and facilities, managing distribution of communications equipment to incident personnel, and coordinating the installation and testing of communications equipment.

The Mid-America Regional Council Emergency Rescue Committee, commonly known as MARCER, promotes regional coordination and cooperation in emergency pre-hospital care for metropolitan Kansas City.

The ICS-400 is a two-day course that provides training for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System (ICS). This course expands upon information covered in ICS-100 through ICS-300 Intermediate ICS courses, which are prerequisites for the ICS-400 course.

This presentation covers key findings from the research and guidance developed through NCHRP 17-97 Strategies to Improve Pedestrian Safety at Night.
