Join our public meeting on Nov. 14 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the MARC Board Room to learn about and provide input on the update to Connected KC 2050, the region’s long-range transportation plan. The agenda includes an overview of transportation projects to be potentially funded, adjustments to the Connected KC 2050 goals, a look into how the region will grow and what the future of the region would look like if we funded specific transportation projects.

Public feedback is requested on these topics. Your participation is vital for shaping our community’s future. This meeting is open to the public. Registration is encouraged if you’d like follow-up information on the Connected KC 2050 plan update but not required.

About ConnectedKC 2050

Connected KC 2050 guides how we will spend federal and state transportation funds. It covers major street and highway, public transportation, bicycle and pedestrian, and freight transportation needs and projects. A long-range plan is required of all metro areas and must be fully updated every five years.

During the past 18 months, we’ve worked with the Connected KC 2050 steering work group, various MARC policy and programming committees, the public and other stakeholders to define a vision for the Kansas City region. We tested different possible growth patterns and defined strategies that will help us accomplish our goals and reach our vision. We issued a call for projects to be included in Connected KC 2050.

While this plan doesn’t give money to projects, projects must be included in the plan to qualify for funding in the future. We asked local cities, counties and other organizations to submit project applications; we received 524. Now we are faced with prioritizing those project applications.
