Speaker gives presentation on stormwater standards

The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) and KC Metro chapter of the American Public Works Association hosted public works professionals this week alongside partner firm Burns & McDonnell to present on their regional project aimed at updating regional stormwater design standards. The update involves revising criteria for APWA Division V, Section 5600 (Storm Drainage Systems and Facilities) and integrating updated content from the APWA/MARC Manual of Best Management Practices for Stormwater Quality.

Attendees got to hear about the project's progress so far, as well as ask questions and provide input as it approaches its final stages of development. Speakers included Water Systems Project Manager Andy Sauer and Water Resources Engineer Lauren Moore, both of Burns & McDonnell, as well as MARC Environmental Programs Director Tom Jacobs.
