Workforce Summit focuses on inclusive regional prosperity

In addition to workforce and education updates from around the region, panel discussions tackled issues such as advancing equity in education and creating a system to support adult learners. During the summit, the KC STEM Alliance recognized four Girls Living STEM award recipients — Leah Cooper, grade 11 from Van Horn High School; Ashley Eddy, grade 12 from Shawnee Mission East High School; Caroline Robinson, grade 12 from William Chrisman High School; and Avionna Thompson, grade 7 from AC Prep.

Since 2011, the Mid-America Regional Council has pulled together representatives from businesses, higher education, school districts, K-12 intermediaries, local governments and civic organizations to explore connections between our workforce, educational attainment and the regional economy at the Greater KC Workforce and Education Summit.
