Intelligence Liaison Officer Course

Registration is now open for Kansas City Regional Fusion Center's 2024 Intelligence Liasion Officer (ILO). If you have permission from your supervisor to attend the training send an email to Outreach Coordinator Kevin Fithian at kevin.fithian@kcpd.org to register. 

You will need to complete and return the NDA (if you do not already have a current NDA on file), review the goals and requirements for participation, and review and return the ILO responsibility agreement in the email to the Outreach Coordinator. Please also send your preferred name for the course certificate. 

All required forms must be completed and returned by participants, and approval to attend must be granted by KCRFC prior to participation in the course. You will be notified once you are approved to attend the course.

Additional Details

The KCRFC ILO program is open to law enforcement, Fire/EMS, United States Military, and partners from the private & public sectors with a valid “need-to-know” and “right-to-know”. Some of the main responsibilities of an ILO include: reporting terrorism-related suspicious activity, serving as a point of contact, ensuring your contact information is current, and sharing appropriate information and intelligence with others in their agency/organization/business in a timely and lawful manner.

The course content is being finalized, but the topics that will be covered in the course include: roles and responsibilities of fusion centers, an overview of the ILO program and program expectations, signs of terrorism-related suspicious activity, how to report terrorism-related suspicious activity, other terrorism-related topics, and information about protecting critical infrastructure and key resources.
