The Dementia Training Room offers a free, come-when-you-can educational event for caregivers of people with dementia. 

On Monday, Nov. 7, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., KU Alzheimer's Disease Research Center will partner with MARC to offer a series of training sessions for caregivers. The sessions will repeat every 15 minutes through the day, and caregivers can attend as many sessions as they like.

Subjects include:

  • Communication strategies.
  • Impact of anxiety and depression.
  • Bathing and incontinence.
  • Delusions and  hallucinations.
  • When dementia isn't Alzheimer's.
  • How Alzheimer's moves in the brain.
  • Reducing wandering.
  • Improving sleep.
  • Late-stage care.
