This Respirator Fit-Test Train the Trainer course provides the participant with the skills and knowledge to conduct qualitative respiratory protection fit-testing for N95 respirators according to OSHA standards. A brief overview of the OSHA respiratory protection standard focusing on the fit-testing requirements will be provided. The training was requested primarily from those new to the fit testing requirements – nursing homes, LTC, etc. but not limited to just those facilities.

Missouri election officials in the Kansas City metropolitan area (Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties), in conjunction with the Regional Homeland Security Coordinating Committee (RHSCC), are hosting an immersive three-hour workshop that emphasizes the importance of interagency cooperation between election officials, law enforcement, emergency management, public information officers, cybersecurity experts and emergency responders in effectively mitigating threats and ensuring a swift and coordinated response to election-related incidents.

The PER335 course is a 16-hour in-person class that addresses the vulnerability of any community to a public safety situation, such as an active shooter at a shopping mall; a train derailment with hazardous chemicals; a bombing incident at a commercial district; a plane crash; or chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive attack. These complex coordinated attacks involve multiple threats that often exceed conventional response tactics. The attacks require a joint response involving members from varying disciplines and jurisdictions.

Shelter Fundamentals is a basic level course that introduces the roles and responsibilities for opening, operating and closing a shelter during a disaster. The course focuses on what new shelter workers need to know to work in a shelter. The purpose of the course is to prepare participants for the roles and responsibilities they will perform at a shelter services.

Shelter Simulations provides an opportunity for participants to increase their knowledge of working in a shelter and gain confidence in performing various shelter tasks. The course provides practical experience on how to conduct the various tasks required to maintain a functioning shelter and situations that may arise during shelter operations. Activities include group discussion; role plays and hands-on practice.
