This 8-hour, instructor-led course prepares emergency responders to safely and effectively manage battery-related incidents using a risk-based response approach. Participants learn battery construction and chemistry, hazard recognition, thermal runaway response, air monitoring, and fireground strategy and tactics. The training combines classroom instruction with hands-on application and covers battery emergencies in transportation, residential, commercial and industrial environments.

This program will cover a number of pipeline, and pipeline response topics, and will conclude with several classroom exercises to give responders a chance to practice what they have learned.

The MARRS Management Council provides policy guidance and oversight of the radio system to ensure that a high quality, reliable system is available to the metropolitan area, meets the needs of emergency response agencies and is financed equitably.

This course will teach students to utilize aspects of chemistry, colorimetric detection, gas monitoring, and spectroscopy in order to identify unknown hazardous materials, unexpected chemical reactions, and what type of illicit intentions may be present based on the types of chemicals.

ICS 300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents covers incident management strategies for emergency response to all-hazard incidents that involve ICS coordination. The three-day course utilizes scenarios and exercises within a team environment to facilitate participant discussion. The course delivery is a "less paper" delivery and course materials will be emailed to participants in advance of the course to download to your electronic device.
