Severe Weather Preparedness Week is a good time for individuals, families and businesses to learn about severe weather and how to protect themselves. 

On Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2023, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) will celebrate the 40th anniversary of 911 emergency phone service in the Kansas City region.

Federal grant to support transition to 988 suicide and crisis lifeline; region’s first-ever coordinated, cross-county partnership addressing mobile crisis response.

Local community mental health centers in the Kansas City region are working together to identify best practices for a collaborative, shared approach to implementing the new 988 suicide and crisis lifeline.

This brief, free online course helps volunteers and staff understand the importance of their surroundings, how and where to report suspicious activity, how to take protective actions and how to be the help until help arrives. 

Congratulations to the recipients of the 2022 Outstanding Performance Awards!  The awards recognize the exceptional work that telecommunicators do for first responders and for the public. A selection committee chose the recipients from nominations submitted by 911 dispatch centers throughout the region.
