Course objectives

Promote teamwork through interactive group activities that correspond to operating a shelter, reinforce key activities and tasks that are involved in resourcing, opening, operation and closing a shelter, practice skills and discuss ways to handle issues that arise in shelters.

Target audience

Employees, community volunteers, COAD and CERT volunteers who would like to assist with activities and tasks in working at a shelter.

Required Pre-requisite

Participants must register and complete "Shelter Fundamental" (morning session on June 26) prior to attending "Shelter Simulations" course.

Participants must attend the entire classroom session to receive a certificate.
