This course uses the guidelines listed in the OSHA Final Rule, 29 CFR 1910.120 (appendix E), NFPA 472 and National Skills Standards. This course is recommended for those who have a potential for hazardous substance exposure while performing their normal work duties. It meets off-site training requirements for general site workers under CERCLA and RCRA operations site workers. Those personnel who are required to perform emergency response to hazardous materials will find this course extremely valuable for initial training.
Topics covered include: properties of hazardous substances, hazard recognition, selection, use and care of personal protective equipment, emergency response planning, spill control and containment, development of site safety and health plans and procedures, use of various monitoring equipment, incident command, and emergency response and decontamination methods and procedures.
