Building Energy Exchange KC celebrates graduation of second Rising Trades class

Congratulations to the graduates of the second-ever Rising Trades Contractor Accelerator program. Building Energy Exchange KC (BE-Ex KC), a Climate Action KC initiative, is a proud partner of the Rising Trades Contractor Accelerator program. The collaboration of BE-Ex KC, Elevate, Business Services Collective and SEED Collective represents expertise in construction, building sciences, energy efficiency and professional services support, including legal and financial guidance for construction contractors.

These graduates are equipping themselves for a transformative period in the construction industry. As the world faces climate resilience challenges and sustainable development, the work being undertaken by these contractors is more important than ever. With the help of Rising Trades, graduates not only learn how to grow their own businesses sustainably in a changing landscape, but how to scale their services and meet an ever-growing demand for energy-efficient development. The ultimate goal for the Rising Trades Contractor Accelerator is for the Kansas City region to have a robust and diverse green construction and high-performance buildings industry that is poised to meet the development challenges of today.

Building energy accounts for two-thirds of carbon emissions worldwide. Promoting the energy efficiency of buildings will not only help reduce emissions and save energy but will lead the way towards significant cost savings for businesses and residents.
