Upcoming conference to celebrate caregivers in our region

Offered by caregiving support group Sandwiched KC and sponsored by the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) and AARP, the conference will take place Saturday, Nov. 4, at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, 415 W. 13th St. in Kansas City, Missouri. The conference also kicks off National Family Caregivers Month.

Participants will have the opportunity to connect with other caregivers, discover community resources and take a break from their daily care duties. The organizers aim to "celebrate the vital care and selfless sacrifices of countless daughters, sons, husbands, wives, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews here in Kansas City."

MARC staff will host an information table at the event, along with a breakout session on local caregiver services. Attendees can learn how to access respite, support, safety repairs, legal aid and more through MARC's Area Agency on Aging.
