CHW Success Stories

A single father was referred to a CHW to help find a safety net clinic for himself and his daughter, who has Spina Bifida. The father had moved to the U.S. from Honduras and has no family to help take care of his daughter while he is at work. 

They also needed to find a new place to live, and he needed help with transportation for his daughter after school. The CHW was able to connect the client with Guadalupe Center to enroll his child in school and to help with transportation. Guadalupe Center got the father a hotel room and has been paying for it. The father is now able to work without needing to get off early. 

The CHW was able to provide support for the single father and his daughter, and they now seem to be doing well.
