Retirement Savings

Pension Plan

MARC begins setting aside a retirement fund in the employee's name after he or she has worked for MARC for 6 months. The amount is 7.25 percent of salary. Employee contributions are voluntary.

The employee gradually takes ownership of the money contributed by MARC and related investment income according to the following vesting schedule:

  • After 2 years of service 20%
  • After 3 years of service 40%
  • After 4 years of service 60%
  • After 5 years of service 80%
  • After 6 years of service 100%

The fund, or the percentage of it owned by the employee, belongs to him or her when MARC employment ends, at any age, for any reason.

401(k) Plan

Regular MARC employees are eligible to join the 401k plan at any time. You may contribute as much of your pay as you would like to your 401k account, from 0 to 100 percent, up to a maximum of $23,000 for 2024. Employees age 50 and older may contribute an additional $7,500 for 2024. For every dollar you contribute, MARC will match 50% of the gross pay you contribute to the plan up to a maximum of 2%.
