Greater Kansas City Regional Bikeway Plan is available online
The MARC Board adopted the Kansas City Regional Bikeway Plan in 2015. The bikeway plan, when completed, would create a network of on- and off-road facilities for bicycle riders that crosses multiple cities and counties in the bistate region. The plan creates a network of more than 2,000 miles and works to promote active transportation and mobility choices for residents.

Broadway Bridge PEL study examines future of bridge and North Loop
Beyond the Loop, a study sponsored by the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the Missouri Department of Transportation and MARC, takes a fresh and objective look at options for the Broadway Bridge and Interstate 70 corridor, gathering ideas from the community and presenting several feasible options for the future.
The study includes continuous face-to-face and online outreach to engage the community and should be completed by Spring 2018.

The Planning Sustainable Places honored for principles set forth in Transportation Outlook 2040
The Quad States American Planning Association (APA) conference, the Mid-America Regional Council’s Planning Sustainable Places (PSP) program was honored with two awards: the Missouri chapter’s Outstanding Public Outreach, Program, Project, Tool, Community Initiative Award, and the Kansas chapter’s Pioneer Award for urban areas.
The PSP program was recognized for its wide-reaching planning and implementation activities, which help local governments make progress toward the region’s long-range transportation and placemaking goals.The PSP program promotes concepts for more livable and sustainable communities — vibrant places that offer a mix of housing, employment and other uses; connected places with a variety of transportation choices; and green places that support healthy living and a natural environment.
