Get Involved

How can my agency get involved in the KCRPC?

The objective is for the KCRPC to provide these benefits to local governments in the region:

  • More cooperative contracts and more opportunities for volume discount savings to local governments.
  • New initiatives and new opportunities to save money.
  • New opportunities through partnerships with other local governments, schools, and national purchasing cooperatives.

Membership Requirements

A representative of your agency must be a member of MARC or a current member of any Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP) chapter affiliate to use the local KCRPC contracts. Area chapter affiliates include Mid-America Council of Public Purchasing, MAPP, KAPPP.

Contact KCRPC

Contact KCRPC Coordinator Rita Parker with questions or if you need assistance getting started. Also, view the policies and procedures for more information.

Familiarize yourself with your state statutes

Local governments receive their authority for cooperative purchasing from state statutes and adopt resolutions that allow them to participate in cooperative purchasing.

Create a cooperative purchasing resolution or policy

Each participating government is asked to obtain a current Letter of Understanding from their governing body prior to bid solicitations or obtain a resolution/policy allowing KCRPC/MARC to issue and award contracts on behalf of the participant.
