The Regional HHW Collection Program provides convenient access to proper HHW disposal for all district residents. The MARC Solid Waste Management District encompasses Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri. Residents of participating communities may take HHW products to the permanent collection facilities in Kansas City, Missouri, and Lee’s Summit at no charge. (Proof of residency is required.) Residents of non-participating communities may access the Lee’s Summit facility for a fee.
If you live within the MARC Solid Waste Management District and your city or county is not participating in the program, please contact your city council or county commission. For more information about this program or other solid waste issues, call Nadja Karpilow at 816-701-8226.
What is Household Hazardous Waste?
Unwanted household products labeled as flammable, toxic, corrosive, or reactive are household hazardous wastes (HHW). All hazardous products must include a signal word — DANGER, WARNING or CAUTION — on the label.
