Emergency Services and Homeland Security

Overview

The Mid-America Regional Council helps strengthen the region’s emergency services and homeland security capabilities to protect, prepare, respond and recover. Through MARC, the region coordinates plans and gains access to high-quality training, exercises, technology and equipment. 

MARC’s role includes:

  • Convening individuals, local governments and organizations to support the region’s efforts to ensure our communities can effectively face hazards and threats. 
  • Coordinating training and exercises for agencies across the region.
  • Providing resources to advance the region’s ability to respond and recover.

Fusion Center

The Kansas City Regional Fusion Center (RFC) brings local, state and federal law enforcement officials together with public and private organizations to detect, deter and respond to terrorist threats in the Greater Kansas City community.
