MAHS Advisory Board
The MARC Board of Directors serves as the governing body for Mid-America Head Start. In March 2012, the MARC Board voted to establish the Head Start Advisory Committee. While the MARC board maintains legal and fiscal responsibility for MAHS, this newly established advisory committee oversees operations and submits monthly reports to the MARC board.
MAHS Policy Council
The MAHS Policy Council consists of parents and community members elected by each delegate agency to represent family concerns and approve financial expenditures and annual program planning. Policy Council members are trained in Head Start governance responsibilities, as well as fiscal and program policies and standards.
2017–2018 MAHS Community Assessment
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services requires each Early Head Start and Head Start grantee to conduct a community assessment once every five years. This document helps guide decision making regarding outreach, enrollment, selection and the most appropriate delivery of Head Start services in Clay, Platte and Jackson counties. It is a valuable resource to help staff, parents and community partners think collectively about the impacts of population shifts and equitable distribution of services. Download the report»
