Services Department
MARC's Research Services Department provides various services to our
member cities and counties and regional initiatives.
These services include data and research, Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) and mapping, and information technology.
Projects and initiatives:
- KCEconomy.com — Your source for all economic information for
the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. It is our intention to provide you
the most recent data and analysis you need to stay on top of all
that is going on in Kansas City's growing and thriving economy.
- KCWorkforce.com — MARC is working with a steering committee to develop a Regional Workforce Intelligence System and strengthen sector-based partnerships in the region. Get the latest information about the Kansas City metro's labor market on this site.
- Metro Outlook LIVE — The
updated version of Metro Outlook, is now an interactive
website that measures
regional progress through a variety of indicators, including employment,
education, income, migration, poverty and more.
- Metro Dataline — Data
on the region's population, economy, social
characteristics, and other areas, as well as maps of the region.
In addition, Metro Dataline provides unique reports from MARC's Research
Services staff, and links to other major
sources of data about the Kansas City region.
- Geographic
information systems (GIS) — used every day to assist regional
planning efforts in the areas of transportation, environment and emergency
services. MARC also supports collaboration between area governments
on cross-jurisdictional GIS/mapping projects and cost-sharing endeavors.
- Publication of several
reports, including the annual Greater Kansas
City Economic Forecast, the Long Range Forecast, migration studies
and the Regional Data Snapshot.
