Regional Newsroom
Effective Jan. 1, MARC will no longer archive news releases from local
governments in our online Regional Newsroom.
When we began the newsroom
several years ago, many local governments did not have the ability to archive
their own releases online, so this central resource was useful to RAPIO
members and local media. Since that time, many local governments have expanded
their own websites, new technologies such as RSS Feeds have become widespread,
and search engine capabilities have continued to improve.
While the newsroom
may still be a valuable resource to some, traffic has decreased to the
point we can no longer justify the time it takes to keep it current and
manage so many files.
News releases issued by MARC can be found on our news
releases page and some of our recent news features can be found in our news
archive.
