GTI strives to be the training provider of choice for local governments in the greater Kansas City area by offering training and leadership development of the highest quality.

Since 1996, over 100,000 constituents have attended GTI special events; regional, state and multi-state conferences; certificate programs; seminars; and technical workshops. Here's a look at what's new for GTI in 2023.

More flexible delivery methods

While GTI has always provided convenient and affordable high-quality learning experiences, the program now offers more flexible delivery methods to better meet the needs of busy public sector professionals.

Blended open enrollment model

Now, participants may attend open enrollment courses in-person or online through virtual, instructor-led events. Live event recordings are posted on the GTI online portal for all classes, along with associated articles, training materials and exercises. These resources are available for a full year after the course.

More on-demand, self-paced courses

GTI's course offerings now include more on-demand, self-paced classes to allow participants the flexibility to learn at their own pace and on their own timeline.

Improved web and enrollment experiences

GTI course registrations are now handled through the GrowthZone system for a faster, user-friendly enrollment process.

It's also easier to find upcoming GTI courses and see the full breadth of offerings thanks to two new tools.

GTI Catalog

Find the course that fits your needs based on the topic or course title.

GTI Course Calendar

See all upcoming GTI courses listed by date, plus search by title, keyword or date.

Certificate programs

GTI refreshed its certificate programs and is currently offering two multiple-part certificate options. Courses for these programs may also be taken individually.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Series

This series enables participants to gain awareness of fundamental diversity, equity and inclusion concepts, terminology, and application. Participants are introduced to strategies that support them in their on-going learning and cultivation of inclusive workplace environments.

MARC Data Academy

The MARC Data Academy helps individuals in local governments make sense of public sector data, effectively use the data and develop clear and appropriate presentations of civic data.
