Given the multijurisdictional nature of the Kansas City Regional TIGER Project and the diverse set of planned investments, the $50 million was divided into three separate grants.

  • RECIPIENT: Mid-America Regional Council (MARC)
    • AMOUNT: $600,000
    • PROJECT ELEMENTS: Program administration and project coordination including developing the website, tracking and reporting tools, creating public communication materials, and evaluating project results.

  • RECIPIENT: Johnson County Transit (JCT)
    • AMOUNT: $10,714,000
    • PROJECT ELEMENTS: Improve and add transit amenities (transit centers, shelters, benches, signs, pedestrian access) along Metcalf Avenue/Shawnee Mission Parkway corridor.

  • RECIPIENT: Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA)
    • AMOUNT: $38,686,000
    • PROJECT ELEMENTS: Green Impact Zone infrastructure improvements which includes sidewalk, street, traffic-signal and transit improvements, as well as a pedestrian bridge; transit investments (transit centers, shelters, benches, signs, pedestrian access) in U.S. 24 and U.S. 40 corridors in eastern Jackson County, Mo.; North Oak corridor north of the Missouri River; State Avenue corridor in Kansas City, Kan.
