TIGER Episode 8: Driving the Local Economy

This video shows how Kansas City's TIGER program is succeeding at putting skilled people to work — hiring local manufacturers to build state-of-the-art transit shelters and real-time signs that will support enhanced and expanded transit services along State Avenue and Metcalf Avenue.


TIGER Episode 7: TIGER Paves the Way

This video features the pervious concrete on Wabash Street at Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and the porous asphalt at Olive and Emanuel Cleaver II in Kansas City, Mo., installed in late September 2012. Unlike traditional pavement, these permeable surfaces will help control stormwater runoff and filter pollutants. This is the first time the city has tested the effectiveness of these types of pavements on residential streets.

Imagine KC: Connected Corridors (episode 6)

This episode of the Imagine KC television series, co-produced by the Mid-America Regional Council and Kansas City Public Television, looks at plans to connect key transportation corridors to form the backbone of a regional system, and how some of our region's most valued places will benefit from improvements and revitalization along these routes. The show features several TIGER corridors, including Metcalf Avenue/Shawnee Mission Parkway, North Oak Trafficway and State Avenue.
