With Federal Aviation Administration funding, the Mid-America Regional Council, Kansas Department of Transportation, and Missouri Department of Transportation updated the Regional Aviation System Plan (RASP) for Greater Kansas City. The study focused on 13 general aviation airports that serve MARC’s nine-county jurisdictional area. While Kansas City International Airport was included, this airport was considered only for the role it plays in supporting general aviation demand. General aviation refers to all segments of the aviation industry that are not related to commercial or military operations.
