The Law Enforcement Committee is a subcommittee of the Regional Homeland Security Coordinating Committee. It serves as a forum for local law enforcement agencies to come together to identify prevention, protection, response and recovery needs, outline strategies to address identified needs and make recommendations for investments.
Current priorities include:
- Sharing information with one another to implement prevention and protection and response strategies, including coordination with the Kansas City Regional Terrorism Early Warning (TEW) Program.
- Continuing the enhanced tactical team and bomb squads’ capability development through training and exercise.
- Promoting and enabling information sharing across jurisdictions, such as video downlinks from the regional helicopter and communications trailers.
