United States Census Bureau - Census Explorer

Explore a wide range of American Community Survey demographic topics, including median household income, labor force participation and percent of the population 65 and older and explore these statistics for states, counties and census tracts. This edition also includes County Business Patterns statistics at the state and county-levels, including total number of establishments, average employee pay, and information relating to the technology sector.

New York Times Launches Interactive Census Data Map for 2010

Census Bureau Launches Interactive 1940 Census Web Page ─ March 19, 2012

In anticipation of the April 2 release of 1940 Census records from the National Archives, the U.S. Census Bureau is launching a new page on its website. Strict confidentiality laws ensure that census records are only unsealed after 72 years have passed, so genealogists, historians and researchers have waited with great eagerness for this release. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)

NCHS is the Federal Government's principal vital and health statistics agency. Since 1960, when the National Office of Vital Statistics and the National Health Survey merged to form NCHS, the agency has provided a wide variety of data with which to monitor the Nation's health.

Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) - Home Mortgage Disclosure Act

The FFIEC is charged with collecting and disseminating information on the Community Reinvestment Act and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, which primarily track mortgage and business lending by financial institutions in their own communities, and home insurance underwriting.

Kansas City Local Investment Commission (LINC)

The Local Investment Commission is a citizen-driven community collaborative effort by the state of Missouri and neighborhood leaders, citizens, business, civic and labor leaders to improve the lives of children and families in Kansas City and Jackson County. LINC is involved in initiatives to provide employment to those on welfare, create new businesses in the central city, improve the delivery of human services and help improve the lives of families and children.

Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE)/Center for Health and Environmental Statistics

The Center provides KDHE and the public with valid and reliable statistical public health information. Vital records and statistical information include births and deaths, infant mortality, trends in manner and cause of death, and infectious and contagious diseases, among others.

Kansas State Department of Education/Data Central

Provides information for any county, organization (i.e., school district), or school in the state of Kansas, including school/district addresses, email and homepage addresses, administrators, enrollment, dropouts, graduates, staff, vocational education enrollment, violence, crime, suspensions, expulsions, attendance rate, advanced science, advanced math, algebraic mastery, schedule, student improvement plans, staff development, student satisfaction, salaries, certified teachers, non-certified teachers, inclement weather dates, and accreditation information.

Kansas State Data Center

The Kansas Data Center at the Kansas State Library provides access to census data through a network of coordinating and affiliate data centers in the state.

Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership (MCNL)

The mission of MCNL is to enhance the performance and effectiveness in the nonprofit sector through high quality community-oriented education, applied research, problem solving and service. MCNL applies the resources and talents of the University and the sector to the problems and issues facing the nonprofit sector so its members are better prepared to serve their communities. MCNL is a service and outreach unit of the L.P. Cookingham Institute of Public Affairs in the Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Missouri - Kansas City.

Missouri Census Data Center

The Missouri Census Data Center (MCDC) Program is a cooperative program of Missouri and the US Bureau of the Census, and is housed in the Missouri State Library. MCDC holdings consists of over 2,000 public machine readable data files and numerous printed reports.

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)

DESE provides data on Missouri school districts, including public information from districts' annual reports, and key statewide statistics. For many indicators, a district's data and the comparable statewide statistics are displayed side-by-side. Historical data is provided for many elements.

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services/Data

Missouri information for Community Assessment (MICA), fact sheets, profiles, and vital statistics for the state as well as cities and counties.

US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)

BLS is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. Among its best known data publications are the Current Employment Statistics Survey, the National Compensation Survey, the Consumer Expenditure Survey, the Producer Price Index and the Consumer Price Index.

US Bureau of the Census

The Bureau is the preeminent collector and provider of timely, relevant, and quality data about the people and economy of the United States. In addition to the decennial census, the bureau collects and provides data from the American Housing Survey, the Current Population Survey, the American Community Survey, and the Economic Census, among others. The bureau's extensive publications include the Statistical Abstract of the United States. -

University of Kansas - Institute for Policy and Social Research (IPSR)

The PRI, formerly the Institute for Public Policy and Business Research (IPPBR), was created in 2000 by the University of Kansas to bring its expertise in the areas of metropolitan studies, public policy, and economics to the state, region, and nation. PRI provides an active link between the University, state and local governments, the business community, and the citizens of Kansas.

University of Missouri, Kansas City - Center for Economic Information (CEI)

In addition to technical support of academic research at the university, the CEI provides timely information to economic decision-makers in the public and private sector. The CEI provides value-added Internet data services on its website through its access tools. The CEI also responds to individual requests for assistance in data/information acquisition. Of special interest to Kansas City, Missouri, neighborhoods is CityScope, a survey of housing conditions commissioned by the city's Department of Housing and Community Development. and conducted between April, 2000 and November, 2001 by the CEI, UMKC's Urban Affairs Program, and the Kansas City Neighborhood Alliance.

University of Missouri Outreach and Extension/Office of Social and Economic Data Analysis (OSEDA)

OSEDA provides information about social and economic trends impacting the state of Missouri, its people and communities. OSEDA strives to transform public data into useful information in a collaborative manner with local communities.
